According to Secret Diary of a Call Girl - Season 3, Episode 3.
I have watched this program since it started. And although, it is yet again another television series, I find it oddly humorous and strangely addictive. Perhaps it is the overly proper dialect of the "English Courtesan named Belle" and those around her... Maybe it has to with its rather witty, campy and ironic originality. I am not sure what it is but for some reason, this character and show intrigues me to the point that at times I feel I can relate to them.
For those of you who have not heard of this series, A Secret Diary of a Call Girl follows Belle through her thoughts, experiences, and challenges of living the life of a London Call Girl ( or, you could call her a prostitute or whore.. "no matter; it’s all semantics" to Belle), a writer and a temp. The series, is based on the works of an anonymous (or rather, a no longer anonymous) Call Girl's writings named Belle de Jour.
A Secret Diary is not necessarily the show for everyone. But then again what is? Some like it, others say it is over-glamorized and unrealistic. The show is a very obvious work of fiction and should be viewed as such, however, there are some really impressive performances from the lead actress, Billie Piper and the rest of the cast. Funny and moving at times, refreshing, raunchy and... addictive.
