Why We Should Diligently Check References
This past week here in the Phoenix metropolitan area has been an especially tough one for providers. Two ladies, one from Phoenix and one from Scottsdale, were arrested at their incall locations. In both cases the ladies made appointments via texts and neither lady had checked the references of the prospective "clients."
Early this morning in Scottsdale a young (23 year old) provider was stabbed to death after an altercation with a gentleman who had apparently retained her services. She had been on an outcall to his apartment. It is unknown at this time whether she had checked his references before scheduling the appointment but I'm betting that she hadn't. Fortunately, he has been arrested but sadly, too late for this young woman.
These incidents clearly bring home how absolutely critical it is to check references - carefully and diligently.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has turned away many prospective clients because they were unable to provide me with references but these three incidents have certainly reinforced why it is absolutely necessary, not just to avoid being arrested but to avoid being killed.
Admittedly even checking references doesn't have a 100% safety factor; however, there's no question that it increases the odds for a safe session.
