The Life of An Escort

Whether she travels and hour or 12, we know who they are. Sometimes we don't. She may say she's a native, but maybe she protects her privacy. Either way, for all the ladies out there, I want to break it down. I know how hard it is to bite your tongue sometimes and not go off on someone for telling you how to run your business or when YOU need to be in their city/state.
1. We need to please everyone. We have to accommodate your schedule, our schedule, our sitters schedules, and sometimes our PTO time from work or SO's schedule. Sick kids, daycare, the list goes on.
2. Screening: AT LEAST 10-20 hours a week.
3. Finding the right hotel. A LOT MORE WORK and research than a non-provider could ever realize. It could literally take an entire day.
4. Advertising: again, another time consuming task. It's got to be done right, effectively and pristinely. God forbid you are late to bring Johnny to soccer practice and you make a grammatical error, you just got mentally denied by a bunch of guys.
5. We haven't even gotten to expenses.
6. Now in come the bookings. On average, I estimate that a good 5 hours is spent one potential client. This includes email rapport, screening, setting up a mutually convenient time, et al. If you do not reply to John Does's email within 30 seconds, you lose his interest, forever. I would estimate that 25% of all booking forms are incomplete, spam, timewasters, etc. If just 2 gents are timewasters, LE, trolls, you just wasted about 10 hours.
7. Memory and Time Management: your dissertation is due. You have an important project due at your "corporate job." You have a child, children, friends, family that all need YOU and your undivided attention. You need to remember every clients preferences, dislikes, outfit/fetish/allergy/music preferences. You have to remember you have a local outcall at 6 and karate classes at 4. Oh shit I need to brush my teeth, study for my exam, feed the cats and I forgot to put up my ad! Crap!
8. Now we get into the expenses. They include, but are not necessarily limited to: advertising, hotel, rental car, flight, gas, tills and let's not forget clothing, food, beverages, parking and the fact that time is $. The average organized, thorough and customer service oriented provider barely sleeps, eats or has time for herself. If you take a long, relaxing shower and don't reply to emails, blog posts, twitter, etc., you are immediately thought to be rude, busted or disorganized. Please see The Life of An Escort.
9. This list is not all-inclusive, and this applies to high volume, low volume, incall, outcall etc.
10. People assume we have it easy because we "charge so much per hour." If you do the math or there is a statistical analyst out there that can graphi ally break it down, you can see what we may "really make."
11. The tour. We don't double book. Say Sally Struthers has 2 hour long appointments and gives herself 1 hour in-between. Each client has at least 2 hours blocked off. Never mind her setup time (checking into hotel, cleaning, unpacking, setting it up nice and purdy, etc. Again, do the math. Oh, she also has a 3 hour cocktail date later. That's 5 hours blocked off.
A. 3 hour cocktail date cancels because his car broke down, wife needed him, whatever the reason. Well, there is 5 hours out the window. Again do the math.
I know I'm missing A LOT here. I'm sure some other gals can help me out here and add what I've missed. I'm also sure someone high and mighty is going to say "you're FOS Vix you make more $ than my dentist does. This is just a marketing technique." Let me be loud and clear: the life of an escort is not as glamorous as one may think. It is a lot more time consuming than one may think. Usually, we are a one-woman enterprise that runs every and all aspect of her business from accounts payable to risk management. Most of us are unrested, stressed and rarely, if ever, have time to ourselves. If we take a 3 day vacation, we are seen as irresponsible and careless.
If I have shed some light to help my fellow brothers and sisters, if even to one lonely soul: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Both the hobbiest and providers time are of equal importance. This is NOT a debate on who has more risk, who is more important etc. I just wanted to pay it forward to my fellow sisters who work their asses off and get depressed over their situations, moral guilts, body image struggles and at the end of the day, sometimes feel underappreciated and spent. Gosh darn it I appreciate you and all the hard work you do to keep the guys safe, the other girls safe and being "real." peace, love and happiness to all and no I didn't spell check a thing I just wrote.

Edit: I'm not bitching or ranting about ME in general. I'm enlightening those to what goes on behind the the scenes. Seeing as most threads are negative towards escorts, I'm trying to maybe, just maybe make a few realize that we don't have it so easy and thanking those that are underappreciated.
I'm referring to the girls that have been in it or plan to be in this business for more than a couple of months.
There's also a very key element of staying safe from LE, serial killers and everything inbetween. We DO run a business. And take it seriously. I guess so far my point is falling on deaf ears. Yes, thank you for pointing this out. May I add that most of whom you pointed out are the ones that inhibit our marketing by writing bad reviews or slandering, when the session was bad because they refused to wash their ass crack and balls. Most of us will sit back and say nothing, because bickering in our review threads is frowned upon. In addition, when a gal's website says she hates pubic hair and a guy walks in with an amazon bush and has the "I don't give a shit what you think deep throat my cock" agenda, again, add another bad review or rumor that she can't suck a cock, and our D&B rating goes down a few notches. I'd also figure there would be the 'cost' of life on tour including having rushed and potentially unhealthy meals (frequently eaten alone), time away from your family and friends, and the general crap that goes along with spending time frequently in a hotel. Very good point that I neglected to include. I'm sure the travelling businessman, such as yourself, can appreciate the intricacies and stresses of being away from family, living out of a suitcase, being in a foreign area with a backpack and a bunch of blind dates that no matter how tight your screening, you never know if the guy walking in your door is going to rip out your pancreas for his hooker stew. It's a job I love, but, it's not all shits and giggles. Nor is it easy. I give a lot of credit to those women (who will remain nameless) that have been Entrepreneurs in this industry for many, many years and have remained unscathed and still help out others.

Like I said, I LOVE THIS. I've met some great, great, awesome providers and sometimes we feel like no one understands what REALLY goes on.
