"I sat on her rug, biding my time, sipping her wine!"
Love them

The chant at the end of Walrus is "Everyone drop out." Back in the '60's, that was pretty groovy.
Later on you can hear the voice of actor Paul Schofield reciting Shakespear's King Lear, owing to a radio that was left turned on during the recording.

Digging through my belongings I sadly find my collection to be reduced to two. The White Album, and Revolver. Not nearly enough. Dang it, I have to go shopping!

My favorite little passage in this album is at the end of "I Am the Walrus." There is a chant in the background as the song fades away that to me always sounded like "Smoke Pot, Smoke Pot, Everybody Smoke Pot."
If you do not own a turntable, think about buying one. Turntables with the capability and software to transfer all of your classic vinyl LPs onto CDs through you PC are available for about $100. I bought one about a year ago and have been busily transferring a lot of my vinyl onto disks. Time consuming but worth the effort. I can now listen to the good old stuff that I have in my car, which is where I do the bulk of my music listening anyway.

I have nearly all the Beatles albums on vinyl, and a turntable to boot.
Let me take you on a trip the next time you come over.
(still not the walrus)

I love them and that is one of my faves also. I was fascinated by alot of their album covers. I would stare at them forever while I listened to their music.
My Fairy GodPerson has struck again... I've got two new CDs, both by the Beatles.
One CD is "Magical Mystery Tour." I asked for this album for my birthday when I was 13. I listened to it incessantly, but it was on vinyl, and it's been a long time since I owned a turntable.
So I'm sitting here listening to it, and singing along to every song, and feeling ridiculously happy.
"Let's all get up and dance to a song that was a hit before your mother was born...though she was born a long long time ago, your mother should know..."
Even more fun -- I've never listened to this album in stereo before -- so I'm enjoying new surprises with an old album, appreciating the engineering. :)
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, my sweet Fairy GodPerson. I'm a happy Beverly tonight. :)
xxxooo Beverly ;-*
P.S. I should add that I'm a big Beatles fan. I got to tour the Abbey Road recording studio in London when I was 15. It was fanatastic. They were doing a presentation on the Beatles and played two songs for us that had never been released -- very 50s do-wop kind of thing. :)
