Cell phones are great. I have two myself – professional and personal. Cell phone cameras are a handy little item as well. They’re great for snapping an impromptu pic or two.
With that said, I think cell phone camera pics used for advertising purposes are horrendous, especially those shots taken in a bathroom mirror. A very large number of BP ads include young ladies (the younger ladies are usually the offenders here) taking their pic in a bathroom mirror.
It’s not that difficult to find a friend, male or female, willing to take a few photos with a real camera. Heck, most men jump at the opportunity to take a few photos for you! There are many really good digital cameras on the market that are pretty inexpensive, easy to use and capable of taking good photos.
It seems to me that visuals are a HUGE part of advertising in this business and the better the visuals, the better one’s opportunities to attract gentlemen. Crummy cell phone photos indicate to me that the lady doesn’t really take any pride in the profession she has chosen.
Out of curiosity, I began reading reviews of the ladies with bad cell phone pics. Seems that in many instances the level of service the reviewer received was mediocre and the surroundings were less than desirable. Dirty motel rooms or apartments, no clean towels, no real pride in appearance.
Guys, if you disagree with me, please feel free to say that, as long as you can see enough to pique your interest, you don’t care about the poor quality of the image.
